Catch Up!!

So I'm obviously not very good at blogging since it has been almost 1 year since my last post. Not to make excuses but we have been very busy. Work is just one thing but Autumn keeps us on our toes. She is now 14 months old! (Brandon doesn't like when I say 14 months, he says she is 1 year old!) Autumn is ALL over the place and into EVERYTHING!!! I thought that we wouldn't really childproof our house and just teach her what she can and cannot get into but I'm rethinking that quickly. She knows what "no" means, however she already likes to test us. This last year has been absolutely amazing. I have loved watching her grow and experiencing her milestones. I was afraid that since she is in daycare most of the year I would miss a lot of the milestones but it hasn't happened that way at all. She has done all of them here at home with Brandon and me watching! Watching her walk for the first time out of the corner of my eye was awesome. After those first 6 or 7 steps Autumn soon decided it was easier for her to crawl and would only walk on her terms. She is very independent and she decides what she wants to do and when she wants to do it. We would try to get her to walk to show Grandma's and Grandpa's, Aunts and her Uncle but when we would try to get her to stand her legs would go to jello or she would hold them up to her stomach. In the last couple of weeks she has really taken to walking and absolutely loves it and wants to walk all of the time. All she needs to learn to do is to stand up without holding onto anything.

We have been trying to do as much as possible with Autumn. Back in March we took her to Kansas to see my cousins. We left in the evening so that Autumn could sleep the entire way there. She did pretty well and got scared and cried only once on the whole car ride. We had a lot of fun hanging out with them.

After that we planned to go to Texas in the beginning of June for Macy Jo's graduation and to visit Jared, Macy Jo, Jacky, and Mike. We drove down there and that car ride was not as fun. Autumn barely slept at all. It was just Brandon, Stan, Autumn, and me in the car on the way down there. We had a lot of fun in Texas and it was good to hang out with Jared and his family again.

The ride home from Texas wasn't as bad. We left early in the morning and there was also more family riding back with us that could help entertain Autumn. Having Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt Amber, Mom, and Dad all in the car was definately a big help. As always Autumn was spoiled. She definately loved her Cheeto Puffs.

We made it home at a decent time and Autumn went to bed and now we were ready to start our summer in Colorado.

Lake Time

Brandon has been begging to go to the lake and ride the jet ski for months now. So it was the perfect time to do it when the Schawe family was down at the lake and Jared Mikeska was visiting us. I was wondering how well it would work out with how hot it has been and having Autumn down at the lake. It seemed to work very well and all of Brandon's aunts were very helpful so that I could go out and have some fun myself. Brandon wanted Autumn to ride the jet ski and I kept telling him no she was too little so we compromised and let her sit on the jet ski in the garage. It was so cute, she is so little and the ski is so big!

So on Friday night we put her on the jet ski and then went to DIA to pick up Jared. It was the first time he met Autumn and kept saying he couldn't believe that we had a baby. We woke up early the next day and drove down to the lake for a day of fun. Autumn was so cute in her swimsuit and eventually got used to the water. She didn't like it at first and screamed but soon warmed up to it. The water was really warm so it was the perfect day to introduce her to it. She slept well after she went into the lake and with it being so hot. Autumn also loved Jared, it seemed he could always make her smile just like her Daddy.

Our Family

Since we have a new addition to our family we decided that we needed to get some family pictures taken and of course get pictures taken of our precious little one. I knew I wanted these pictures but I wanted to be sure I didn't pay a lot of money and I could get prints of all the ones I wanted. I knew that this wouldn't be the last time I would be getting pictures taken so I needed it to be cheap and worth it. I hadn't researched anyone to take pictures yet because lets face it having a new baby keeps you very busy. Well we were at Tami's college graduation (congratulations Tami!) and I was going into the restroom to change Autumn when this lady was chasing me into the bathroom saying "Ma'am, Ma'am". I thought I has lost one of Autumn's socks and I turned around. Well the lady handed me a card and says I love to photograph babies.

I though this was a little weird, however I went home and looked up her website. I loved everything I saw on the website and I loved the price for the package and to top it off we get a cd with all the images and the copy right. It was everything I wanted. So I called and booked an appointment and we got the pictures taken. I love them and I plan on going back when she is a little bit older.

Autumn Leigh

Well it has now been over a month since we were blessed with our little angel. I knew that our lives would change once she arrived but I don't think I expected it to change this much. I absolutely love every thing that has changed and would not ask for anything different.

The day before Autumn was born I wasn't expecting that I would be a mom the next day. The school nurse at my school took my blood pressure and told me I needed to go and see my doctor because it was 158 over 124. So I left the school and met Brandon and we went to the doctors office. When we arrived there we were told to go to the hospital and we would either be induced that day or the next. By the time we arrived to the hospital I started contractions naturally. So it was official we would have Autumn in the next day or so. We called and told our parents and before we knew it all of our immediate family was there. As labor progressed everyone got more excited. At around 7 the next morning they broke my water to speed things along and Autumn was head down ready to join all of us. At about 10:30 they checked and gave me the epidural and then the next thing we knew was our doctor was telling us we would be having a c-section within 10 minutes because she was breech. That was a little overwhelming for the both of us and not what we expected. We did not have much time to adjust but we quickly had to accept it and off we were. At 11:44am Autumn graced us with her presence. She weighed 6 lbs and 10 oz and was 19 and 1/4 inches long. Our new miracle was now in our lives and we couldn't be happier.

When we left the hospital she weighed 5 lbs and 13 oz. It took a little bit to adjust to having a new baby in our lives but we love it. Autumn Leigh Schawe is now 5 and 1/2 weeks old and still growing fast. She now weighs 8 lbs and is 21 inches long. She is developing her own personality and it is coming out more and more each day! I absolutely love being a mom and would not change it for anything in the whole world. I'm not sure how I will be able to leave her to go back to work in August.

Big Changes

Well it is a good thing that we got a "family car"! Less than a week after we got the car we found out that we will be having our first little one at the end of May. I'm so glad that I now have this safe car to drive my baby around in. I have found out that I have been going through many emotions and feelings about this. I'm still letting it all sink in. We are so excited to be adding a new addition to our family and we just pray that everything is ok and the he/she will be healthy.

Family Car

Well after the wedding and the honeymoon (which was also amazing, and you can see the photos on facebook) we came back home to reality. We both started work again and started to talk about where we wanted to go with our new life. We have decided that we want to start our family soon and that if we are going to do that we need a more reliable car for me to drive. I told Brandon that I really wanted some type of a 4-wheel drive SUV because it would be easiest to get the kids in and out of the back seat, it would be big enough to go camping, and we could get a gate to keep the dogs in the back. Shortly after we began to look at many smaller SUV's. After looking for a little bit we found a black Dodge Nitro and fell in love. We ended up buying it and now are ready to start our family.

Wedding

It has been almost a month and a half since our wedding and I'm just now going to post about it. I should really get better about this.

Our wedding was AMAZING!!! We couldn't have asked for anything better. Our amazing family and friends were there to celebrate our special day with us. I finally got to marry my prince charming and I completely felt like a princess. I don't think that we could thank my parents enough for doing everything they could to make this wedding as special as it was. We were so pleased with the outcome. We also could not thank God enough for the beautiful weather that we had that day. Like I said before it was a perfect day, with the perfect people there helping us celebrate our new life together. If you would like to see more wedding pictures please check out our facebook page or contact us.
