Well it has now been over a month since we were blessed with our little angel. I knew that our lives would change once she arrived but I don't think I expected it to change this much. I absolutely love every thing that has changed and would not ask for anything different.
The day before Autumn was born I wasn't expecting that I would be a mom the next day. The school nurse at my school took my blood pressure and told me I needed to go and see my doctor because it was 158 over 124. So I left the school and met Brandon and we went to the doctors office. When we arrived there we were told to go to the hospital and we would either be induced that day or the next. By the time we arrived to the hospital I started contractions naturally. So it was official we would have Autumn in the next day or so. We called and told our parents and before we knew it all of our immediate family was there. As labor progressed everyone got more excited. At around 7 the next morning they broke my water to speed things along and Autumn was head down ready to join all of us. At about 10:30 they checked and gave me the epidural and then the next thing we knew was our doctor was telling us we would be having a c-section within 10 minutes because she was breech. That was a little overwhelming for the both of us and not what we expected. We did not have much time to adjust but we quickly had to accept it and off we were. At 11:44am Autumn graced us with her presence. She weighed 6 lbs and 10 oz and was 19 and 1/4 inches long. Our new miracle was now in our lives and we couldn't be happier.
When we left the hospital she weighed 5 lbs and 13 oz. It took a little bit to adjust to having a new baby in our lives but we love it. Autumn Leigh Schawe is now 5 and 1/2 weeks old and still growing fast. She now weighs 8 lbs and is 21 inches long. She is developing her own personality and it is coming out more and more each day! I absolutely love being a mom and would not change it for anything in the whole world. I'm not sure how I will be able to leave her to go back to work in August.
